German firm enters Slovak automotive industry with new production unit

SAM Automotive GmbH, one of the most reputed companies partaking in Germany automotive & transportation industry, plans to set up a production plant in southern Slovakia. Through this establishment, claim sources, the company intends to officially penetrate Slovak automotive & transportation market.

As per authentic sources, the town of Veľký Krtíš has been chosen for the plant site. It has been estimated that the plant will gradually create more than 800 jobs. The production premises spanning over 30,000 square meters have already been prepared for the plant. The Slovak plant of SAM Automotive will reportedly be producing components for aluminum doors and roof racks.

Dirk Fischer from the SAM Automotive group has apparently stated that the company’s goal of launching a new production plant in Slovakia is to increase competitiveness in the automotive & transportation industry. He further claimed that the launch is also targeted toward boosting production capacity and increasing access for trade partners.

For the uninitiated, SAM Automotive is a global supplier of exterior aluminum components and boasts of some of the leading automotive manufacturers in its clientele. The establishment of the production plant will create 150 jobs in the initial year. It has been speculated that Wesconi Banská Bystrica is the company that is providing operational consultation and project management to SAM Automotive in Slovakia.

Anna Weissová, the marketing officer of Wesconi Banská Bystrica has reportedly said that the production premises will require further construction and the investment plans that will come through in three phases will enable full production capacity by 2023.

Seemingly, while trying to decide the location for expansion, SAM Automotive had considered several countries. The winning factor in favor of Slovakia is the country’s advantageous position in the automotive & transportation industry, claim reports.

Incidentally, clients for the Slovak plant of SAM Automotive will include Volkswagen Slovakia, Audi, and Mercedes Benz in Hungary.
