Reportedly, the ISL has become the first entity in India to implement the AR technology on the gigantic social media platform.
Sources reveal that this initiative will provide fans with unique experiences to demonstrate their support for their favorite club. If reports are to be believed, the state-of-art 3D facemasks will enable fans to exhibit their club’s color, anthem, and logo to photos and videos using Facebook’s AR camera.
Meanwhile, ISL’s collaborative venture to exploit the perks of AR technology, as speculated by industry experts, will have a significant impact on the regional augmented reality market share. Analysts further anticipate the launch of AR masks for ISL 2017-2018 to pave a more opportunistic way for AR industry players with regard to brainstorming more such innovative approaches to enhance customer experiences.
For the uninitiated, ISL was founded on 21st of October 2013 in partnership with Reliance Industries, IMG, and Star Sports with the intention of increasing exposure of football sport in India.
