Microsoft’s latest expansion in Dublin to create 200 new jobs

Software major Microsoft has reportedly announced that it will offer 200 new job opportunities at its new campus in Leopardstown, south Dublin. The total number of Microsoft employees in Ireland would stand at 2,200 after the latest expansion, cite sources.

Reportedly, half of the new roles will be for high-skilled engineering positions, which will work to support the development of new and emerging innovations like artificial intelligence for customers across the globe. Few of the new members would work at the Global Centre of Excellence for Site Reliability Engineering, located at One Microsoft Place, to enhance the performance and reliability of the company’s cloud infrastructure and services worldwide.

Sources have also reported that Microsoft will be employing 50 individuals to support the constant expansion of its 700-strong EMEA digital sales organization, with vacancies for technology solutions specialists, account executives, and solution sales specialists.

In addition, the company is offering 50 more roles across several domains in the company including positions for data center operations, sales subsidiary, and its graduate and intern program, cite sources.

Cathriona Hallahan, Managing Director at Microsoft Ireland, was reportedly quoted saying that the constant development of the Dublin operation indicates that it will play a significant role within the company globally.

Hallahan further added that the team at Microsoft is collaborating with businesses, organizations, governments worldwide to attain the vision of the firm which is to help people in achieving more.

According to Niall Murphy, Director of Global Azure Site Reliability at Microsoft Ireland, some of the tasks involved in new roles are not easy. However, they offer an opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing company like Microsoft. The new campus in Dublin feels like a dynamic start-up equipped with the scale and resources of an established company, Murphy added.
