SRMC collaborates with Mercy Health’s clinically integrated network

Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC), a general medical and surgical facility in Salem, Ohio, has reportedly collaborated with Mercy Health’s clinically integrated network, Mercy Health Select. This move would not influence SRMC’s position as an independent community hospital but would additionally allow the hospital to gain recognition as an eminent member of the Mercy Health Select, claim sources.

According to WKBN, the clinically integrated network (CIN) allows hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers to share medical specific information so that clinical practitioners can improve medical services and cut-down healthcare cost.

As per an official press release, Salem Regional Medical Center stated that this partnership would allow individual organizations to enhance overall health services. Furthermore, the press release elaborated on current affairs which would eventually empower medical services, improve quality of care and reduce patients’ medical expenses.

As per SRMC President and CEO Dr. Anita Hackstedde, this partnership entitles both parties to offer collaborative service to regional patients so as to make healthcare qualitative, cost-effective, and efficient.

With the robust expansion of the healthcare industry, it is pivotal for physicians and hospitals to work in a collaborative fashion in a bid to prevent diseases and improve healthcare. Mercy Health and SRMC’s patients are bound to benefit with this move, she added.

Mercy Health-Youngstown CEO, Donald Kline was reportedly quoted stating that linking with SRMC would serve them well so as to learn and progress in the current evolving healthcare environment.  Mercy Health Select expects providers to work towards developing a value-based healthcare system, by offering low cost, high-quality healthcare services to those in the Mahoning Valley.

For the record, Mercy Health Select is the largest health system in Ohio and one of the largest Catholic health systems in the United States as it encompasses 24 hospitals, more than 2,700 providers, 36 home health agencies, and 114 skilled nursing facilities.
