Pertamina to target international lubricants market players

PT Pertamina Lubricants, an Indonesia state owned oil & gas company, is eyeing partners for international market.The company specializes in manufacturing synthetic engine oil & lubricant oil and is determined to widen its wings in the worldwide lubricants market. Reportedly, Pertamina Lubricants has been meeting & discussing its expansion policy directly with the foreign traders from countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, India, Cameroon, Nigeria, Afghanistan, etc.

Pertamina recently held an exhibition that displayed its range and variants of lubricant products for both automotive and industrial segments.

A similar move, demonstrating the company’s goal to widen its business credentials, was recorded when in 2014, Pertamina Lubricants strategically acquired around 75% ownership in Bangkok-based lubricants producer AMACO Production Co. Ltd. The business step taken by the company proved to be immensely advantageous in further penetrating its product in lubricants industry of Thailand and in the Indochina belt.

For the record, till date, Pertamina Lubricants has expanded its presence across 14 countries and has established an overseas lubricant distribution network with 16 participants. Sources reveal that the company is further exploring strategic co-operation to amplify its distributorship and intensify its product penetration across the globe.

Pertamina’s entry in the Vietnamese lubricants industry to market Rubsol lubricants – that are used for tire manufacturing bearings, has been marked as one of the remarkable effort made by the company for business expansion. The company has also penetrated Vietnam’s plywood, cement, and transportation sectors.

In other news, it has been reported that in October 2017, Pertamina Lubricants signed a lubricant sale contract with Ashrafco, an Egyptian company based in Cairo. Marking its entry into the Egypt lubricants market, the company sold one of its lubricant containers for a value of USD 56,695 million, as a marketing experiment.

The company has further extended its partnership with Lamborghini, where Fastron Platinum lubricant is legitimately used in all motorsport Squadra Corse Team events.
