Runners from Around World Cover Rivers, Ocean, Redwoods and Waterfalls in Ultimate Trail Run
Mendocino County’s first ultra-marathon, the Mendocino Ultra 50K is a breathtaking trail run starting and ending at the Big River State Park just south of Mendocino Village. The race takes runners along the gorgeous Big River, deep into the forest, west on Russian Gulch (past a beautiful waterfall!), and finally delivering them to the home stretch–along the breathtaking Mendocino headlands.
Race Director Sid Garza-Hillman—ultra-marathoner and a noted author, Stanford Inn’s Wellness Director and nutritionist. Race sponsors include Gu, Sufferfest Beer, and the Founding Sponsor the Stanford Inn Historic Farm & Eco-Resort.
“There is a truly magical experience that happens when you are out running the trails on this gorgeous coast,” said Garza-Hillman. “It is as if you unite with your surrounding for more power. Truly a unique experience!”
