Which diseases might kill an entire population?

There are many diseases all over the world, but some of them have managed to eradicate massive populations over the course of not that many years. So you do have to wonder, what does humanity have to focus on. Should we focus on simpler diseases that we can cure or should we focus on those massive viral infections that are quite the threat at this time? Obviously, the answer is somewhere in between at this particular time!

Marburg virus

The Marburg virus killed a lot of people in Congo and since it has a mortality of 25%, people that get infected with it do have a high chance of getting killed. So yes, this might be one of the most demanding viral infections of all time and only time will tell whether we can find new ideas and explore new stuff or not. Hopefully humanity will be able to get over all these issues and establish a delightful, united presence that will do wonders for years to come.

Ebola virus

Ebola has killed millions and it’s one of the most dangerous viruses in the world. It doesn’t have a cure and it is very powerful, something that’s quite scary for many people all over the world. As you can imagine, the Ebola virus has a very fast spread rate and lots of people got killed by it rather fast. So, the infection rate can be huge here and we have to do all in our power in order to stop it as fast as possible.

Rabies

Although there are vaccines against rabies, people all over the world still have to deal with this problem. It’s easy to imagine that rabies can become quite the threat, but hopefully humanity will be able to cope with it sooner rather than later.
HIV
HIV is a different type of virus and it might eliminate a lot of people all over the world. Although you can live up to 5 years with this virus, you do end up dying in the end and that on its own can be very alarming!

Hantavirus

This is a pulmonary virus known to bring in some catastrophic results for many, many years. This virus has already killed thousands of people and it recently became responsible for the death of around 3000 troops!

Influenza

Influenza is a very powerful virus on its own and sometimes some new strains emerge from it which can make it rather deadly. Visiting your doctor and making sure that you have no influenza-related issues is crucial, as this type of flu can spread very fast.
As you can see, these diseases can wipe out the population in many regions. They can spread very fast and the worst part is that most of them can even live in combination with one another, so the death rate can increase exponentially. Identifying any potentially viral threats like this is crucial if we want humanity to stay safe. This is especially true of we consider that our world’s population is increasing by the minute!
