Missing Hiker Roy Seney Found Alive And Well

Hinton (The Camping Canuck) – Hinton RCMP have located a missing hiker on Saturday at the McLeod River campground.

Roy Seney, 30, was reported missing when he failed to return home from a hike on Friday night.

He was planning on hiking from Pembina Ave. to the Bighorn Tr. off of Coal Creek and Robb Rd, according to the RCMP.

Seney sent a text to his wife at approximately 1 p.m. Friday, telling her he was still safe. During search efforts, she received a text from him Saturday around 3 p.m. After contacting RCMP, Seney was found

It was believed Seney did not have enough necessities or supplies to sustain his hike past Friday night. His Family said he is not an experienced hiker.

Police said they were “very concerned for his well-being” because it was “out of character” and he is an inexperienced hiker.

RCMP told CTV Edmonton Seney is alive and well.
