ST Aerospace bags MRO contracts from Air Canada & Lufthansa Cargo

ST Aerospace, a subsidiary of ST Engineering based in Singapore, has recently acquired two MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) contracts from Air Canada and Lufthansa Cargo. According to some of the key officials of the firm, ST Aerospace has entered into a five-year agreement with Lufthansa for providing maintenance & support activities worth USD 30 million. The contract will make ST Aerospace the sole provider of MRO services for the MD-11 fleet of Lufthansa Cargo. The firm is expected to carry out both light & heavy C-checks on the fleet next year. Apparently, ST Aerospace has also been offering heavy C-check solutions to the MD-11 fleet of Lufthansa Cargo.

The division of ST Engineering also declared that it has won another contract from Air Canada via its U.S. partner VT San Antonio Aerospace for carrying out reconfiguration activities in the internal part of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet of Air Canada. Reportedly, by the end of the first half of 2017, ST Aerospace had also won a maintenance service contract from Air Canada for operating the Boeing 787 fleet.

For the record, the firm is the largest commercial MRO service provider across the globe with an exceptional reputation & experience of maintaining more than fifteen thousand commercial jets since 1990.

The President of ST Aerospace states that since last few years, the firm has supported Air Canada in its heavy maintenance activities and cabin upgradation programs encompassing turnkey solutions such as engineering design, kitting, and certification, and modification. Analysts are of the view that the contracts bagged by the firm are a result of its high-quality MRO support services to its clients.

Reportedly, ST Aerospace’s network is widely spread across America, Europe, and APAC. It has the capacity of housing 40 widebody, 24 general aviation, and 27 narrowbody aircraft.
