Captive automotive service provider DFM inks deal with NHS Scotland

Daimler Fleet Management, one of the leading names in global automotive industry, has recently made it to the headlines, having signed a contract with NHS Scotland. As per authentic sources, NHS Scotland has apparently awarded a place to DFM on its new car leasing framework agreement via a national tender process. Allegedly, the leasing and fleet management organization is one of three suppliers to have secured a bid in the four-year agreement.

For the uninitiated, NHS Scotland is the publicly funded healthcare service system in Scotland, that deals with providing frontline healthcare facilities across the country. Boasting of a portfolio of a wide range of specialists and leading-edge services, NHS Scotland has apparently been at the forefront in protecting and improving the health of the Scottish populace over the past seven decades.

If reports are to be relied on, NHS Scotland presently employs nearly 160,000 staff, who work under fourteen regional health boards. It also supervises one public health body and seven special NHS boards. Reportedly, each of these boards is obligated to Scottish Ministers, regulated by the Scottish Government’s health and social care directives.

The deal may seem to be one of the most significant ones of its kind across automotive industry, given the fact that DFM would not only be supplying vehicles to NFS Scotland, but also would efficiently manage its fleet to quicken the pace of health services in Scotland. Speaking with regards to the contract, Scott Chambers, the fleet sales manager of DFM has been quoted saying that the company is highly optimistic and has been looking forward to developing a cordial partnership with NHS Scotland.

Sources familiar with the matter affirmed that the automotive industry giant has already offered a range of cars for use by staff, both on a shared pool basis and individually as the organization’s vehicle.
